About ScrollCue
Built because existing tools either required a download and a subscription before you could do anything useful, or were so basic they only scrolled text.
Free plan available · No download required · No credit card
Why ScrollCue exists
Every major teleprompter tool in 2024 had the same problem: the features you actually need — voice scroll, recording, Zoom integration — were locked behind a subscription. Free tiers either added watermarks, had time limits, or were so stripped-back they were barely usable.
Voice scroll uses the Web Speech API built directly into Chrome and Safari. There is no third-party cost to run it. Most teleprompter companies use it as an upsell because they can, not because it costs anything to provide. ScrollCue gives it free because that is the right thing to do.
The free plan has no time limit, no watermark, no account required. Recording, Zoom overlay, QR remote, and dual screen are Pro features — things that require more infrastructure to support — available at $4.99 for a day or $99 for a year.
What ScrollCue is built on
Web Speech API
Free in Chrome and Safari. Powers voice scroll with no server involved — your microphone audio never leaves your device.
MediaRecorder API
Browser-native recording. No third-party upload required. Files save directly to your device in WebM or MP4.
WebRTC
Powers the QR remote control and the dual-screen connection. Peer-to-peer between devices on the same network.
BroadcastChannel
Used for the dual screen feature. Syncs the script position between windows in real time.

Who built ScrollCue?
ScrollCue was built by a small team focused on making professional teleprompter tools accessible to independent creators without subscriptions or downloads.
Why is voice scroll free on ScrollCue when other tools charge for it?
Voice scroll uses the Web Speech API built into Chrome and Safari. There is no third-party cost to provide it. ScrollCue passes that saving to users rather than using it as an upsell.
Does ScrollCue store my scripts or recordings?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Scripts are stored in your browser's local storage only. Recordings save directly to your device. Nothing is sent to any server.
